Who we are
The Handphibians lay out samba-style beats in live
performances that are sure to make your mind take a back seat
to your dancing feet!
Handphibian percussion is modeled on Brasilian baterias
and based primarily on the Escolas de Samba, the Samba Schools
of Brazil.
Our music is also naturally influenced by the percussion
traditions of Cuba, Africa, and even good ol' Wisconsin.

Founded
in 1990s, the Handphibians are led by Robert Schoville and are based
in Madison, Wisconsin. We play at festivals, march in parades, and
enliven stage performances with our high energy rhythms.
The
Handphibians represent a broad spectrum of the Madison community,
enjoining all that would like to participate, regardless of previous
